From the highlands of Ethiopia to a roastery in Breakwater, Victoria. This is how Wild Goat Coffee Co came to be.
The Legend
A Goat Herder Named Kaldi.
Somewhere in the highlands of Ethiopia, around the ninth century, a young goat herder named Kaldi watched his flock with growing bewilderment. The goats had eaten bright red berries from a wild tree, and now they were leaping and dancing, wide awake long after dark.
Kaldi took a handful of berries to a local monastery. The monks brewed them into a drink, stayed alert through their evening prayers, and told others. From that hillside, word spread across the Arabian Peninsula, through Persia and Turkey, and eventually across the whole world.
Coffee, as we know it, started with curiosity. A herder who paid attention, a flock that went a little wild, and a berry nobody had thought to question before.

Built on That Same Curiosity.
Wild Goat Coffee Co is an Australian premium coffee brand rooted in that origin story. The name is a nod to Kaldi's flock: the creatures who found coffee before any of us knew what it was. We thought that deserved remembering.
We are based in Breakwater, Victoria, and we roast a single signature espresso blend sourced from multiple growing regions. We have kept the range tight and the quality high. One blend, done properly.
Everything we sell is available whole bean or pre-ground, in sizes that suit daily drinkers and curious first-timers alike. And if you want to give someone the gift of a genuinely good cup, we have that covered too.

Our espresso blend draws from some of the world's finest growing regions, each contributing something the others cannot.
Timor
Earthy and full-bodied, Timor beans anchor the blend with real weight and a low-acid foundation.
India
Spicy and complex, Indian beans bring depth and a subtle mustiness that adds intrigue to every shot.
Africa
Bright, fruit-forward African beans lift the blend with natural sweetness and a lively, floral brightness.
Central America
Clean and balanced, Central American beans round the blend with gentle sweetness and a crisp, clear finish.
South America
Chocolatey and smooth, South American beans tie everything together with approachable warmth and body.

A good espresso blend should taste like a decision, not an accident. Ours is deliberately robust: built to hold its own when drunk black, and to cut cleanly through milk without losing character.
We offer the blend whole bean and ground, in 250g bags for the curious and 1kg bags for the committed. Every format carries the same coffee; only the size and preparation change.
